The Dumpster “interventions”

In New York, the ugly green dumpsters are being going quietly glamorous. Finley, a 34 year old artist based in Rome, did these dumpster ‘interventions’ while visiting friends over the recent holidays. In the New York Times, she is quoted, “It’s a simple concept, beautifying an ugly object, and the Dumpsters bring together the three things I really care about: art, women and the environment.”"

Spending time beautifying a mundane, everyday, sometimes-ugly object takes inspiration. Doing this in the biting cold requires much dedication, good friends, and quality mittens.

I’d like to try papering the stinky green bins that the CCP uses for their waste. Now that would require some dedication! I’d rather brave the cold :)
