DIY: Turn a book into a clock

In response to my “Would you…” post, Pracheta asked me for instructions on how to turn a book into a clock. Just in case there are other DIYers reading this who might want to take the time (ha ha) to clock in the hours (ha ha again. Sorry), here are a few links that might be useful:
